Design Philosophy
Scalpel vs. Swiss Army Knife
I like to build software that does one thing well, and doesn't overstep its boundaries. Software for people who want to get up and running ASAP. Not everyone has time to sift through 300 cool features.
I spend most of my paycheck on courses (e.g., chess, sim racing, climbing), and use the big online platforms as a subscriber.
They feel a little... heavy. Way too many complicated features, when I suspect most people only care about like 7 of them.
You also have to pay insane rates like $39/mo (on top of payment processing fees). That's great for investors, but sucks for new creators doing this part-time after work.
The internet deserves a lightweight option that costs nothing up front, and uses AI in a seamless way. It's hard for the big companies to start over and redesign their platforms using modern tech.

Both of my parents were teachers. Money is cool, but it's not why I've spent most of my career in education.
